On the Camp Lehigh training grounds, the trainer\u2019s voice roars over the recruits scrambling at the flagpole. \u201c\u2026this army\u2019s in trouble! Get up there, Hodge!\u201d<\/p>\n

Hodge, cocky but clumsy, slips and crashes back to the dirt. \u201cCome on! Get up there! Nobody\u2019s got that flag in 17 years! Now fall back into line! Come on, fall in! Let\u2019s go! Get back into formation!\u201d<\/p>\n

Steve Rogers, small but sharp-eyed, steps toward the pole.<\/p>\n

The trainer snaps, \u201cRogers! I said fall in!\u201d<\/p>\n

Undeterred, Steve calmly pulls the pin from the flagpole\u2019s base, letting it collapse with a thud. He retrieves the flag and hands it to the stunned trainer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, sir,\u201d he says, climbing into the car with Agent Carter.<\/p>\n

In another corner of the camp, recruits grunt through pushups under the blazing sun. Peggy Carter paces, her voice sharp. \u201cFaster, ladies! Come on. My grandmother has more life in her, God rest her soul. Move it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Colonel Phillips, walking beside Dr. Abraham Erskine, casts a skeptical glance. \u201cYou\u2019re not really thinking about picking Rogers, are you?\u201d<\/p>\n
