Steve pulls back, flustered. \u201cAgent Carter, wait.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peggy doesn\u2019t slow. \u201cLooks like finding a partner wasn\u2019t that hard after all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeggy, that\u2019s not what you thought it was,\u201d Steve calls, hurrying after her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think anything, Captain, not one thing,\u201d Peggy retorts, her voice icy. \u201cYou always wanted to be a soldier, and now you are, just like all the rest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steve\u2019s jaw tightens. \u201cWell, what about you and Stark? How do I know you two haven\u2019t been fondue-ing?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peggy rolls her eyes. \u201cYou still don\u2019t know a bloody thing about women.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moments later, in the lab, Steve is led by Howard Stark around advanced weaponry. Howard is amused. \u201cFondue is just cheese and bread, my friend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steve blinks. \u201cReally? I didn\u2019t think\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNor should you, pal,\u201d Howard says, grinning. \u201cThe moment you think you know what\u2019s going on in a woman\u2019s head is the moment your goose is well and truly cooked.
